It is not just the elderly who need our friendship and support. We probably all need family, friends, neighbours or even strangers to help us through some of life's challenging times.
Life is tough at times, many of us are just trying to survive financially, which often places us under a lot of stress. Added to that, we have relationship breakdowns, loss/grief and many other common experiences which can all contribute to a decline in our emotional and mental well being.
We are not alone, we all have people and/or organisations who we can seek some help and support from, but we need to reach out and seek that support. Don't be afraid, nervous or embarrassed to ask for some support, it truly is OK TO NOT BE OK.
If you are struggling, please speak up and seek the support you might need. Also, be sure to regularly remind your family and friends, that if they ever find themselves in a difficult or troubling situation, YOU ARE ALWAYS HERE/THERE FOR THEM. Make sure your loved one's are aware that you would much rather support them through a tough time, than to be left with the thoughts of not being able to help, simply because you didn't know someone needed help and support.
